Daniel Roth has horology in his bloody, both his grandfather and great grandfather were watchmakers in Neuchatel in Switzerland. His grandfather moved to the Mediterranean, locating himself in Nice in the South of France and opened a watch repair shop. Daniel Roth would play and work in the shop from a very early age, and when the time came that Daniel Roth had to choose a career path there was only one option as far as he was concerned, so he enrolled and completed a three year watchmaking course in Nice. After graduating and recieving his diploma Daniel Roth moved to La Vallee de Joux (something of a Mecca for watchmakers) and found work for smaller horologists before ending up working in a position at Audemars Piguet. Daniel Roth worked there for seven years and still speaks fondly of this position and holds the company in a very high regard. When he left he moved on to work with the Chaumet brothers, Parisian Jewellers who had purchased the very run down Breguet company and planne to restore it. Daniel Roth proved vital to this plan as he was such a young, talented watchmaker that he was able to revitalise the brand and start a manufacturing line from scratch.
When he left Breguet he set up Daniel Roth, his own self named brand. He was inspired to create new shapes for watches and sat on top of a large bank loan and a distribution agreement he created his own brand that focused on creating the finest, most innovative timepices. Slowly but surely the Daniel Roth brand began to grow and earned many staunch supporters, and within time Daniel Roth had a well deserved reputation and had earned the respect of his peers. After some run ins with the industry when Daniel Roth hit the age of 55 he decided he had had enough of dealing with other buisnesses for good. He decided that he would start his buisness again and build the perfect watch, and wanted his watch to be a testament to his skills and to a craft that Daniel Roth felt was fast vanishing in the modern world. He spent 18 months designing and developing his new creation and after some consultancy work with Minerva that helped pay the bills Daniel was able to launch his new watch to critical acclaim.
