Hydromax Watches
| Bell
and Ross were formed in 1992 with the aim of creating watches perfectly
suited for professional use. Bell and Ross timepieces are widely used
across the globe by pilots, astronauts, divers and even bomb disposal
experts. All Bell and Ross watches are manufactured to the highest
standard in a hyper-modern manufacturing shop in La Chaux-de-Fonds by a
combination of master watch makers, designers and engineers. Bell and
Ross adhere to their four founding design principles; water resistance,
precision, readability and performance. | |
The HydromaxThe Hydromax watch has been designed to perform in the most extreme underwater diving conditions. Tests conducted on the Hydromax in hyperbaric tanks have proved the watches resistance at 1110 bar, equivalent to 11100 metres. The performance of the Hydromax is due to a major technical innovation: a watchcase completely filled with a transparent oil called Hydroil (exclusive to Hydromax). This liquid guarantees perfect water-resistance and incomparable readability. In addition, it guarantees the extremely reliable and silent operation of the Hydromax. To compensate for the Hydroil oil expanding or compressing in extreme differences of temperature, a special watch case system has been developed and patented by Bell & Ross (see diagram) for the Hydromax. Moulded at the centre of a screw-down back, a flexible rubber button deflates or expands according to variations in liquid volumes. A metal plate protects the Hydromax mechanism from the deforming rubber. Exclusive user of Hydroil in watchmaking and the inventor of the special steel and rubber watch back, Bell & Ross has in the Hydromax an exceptional watch that satisfies the extreme requirements of deep underwater diving. | ![]()
