Piccadilly Watches
Backes and Strauss were founded in 1789, and are the oldest diamond company in the world. Examples of Backes and Strauss jewellery were shown at the Great Exhibition of 1851 and their hallmark was registered in London's Goldsmiths' Hall in 1878. A Backes and Strauss bracelet decorated with a classical Assyrian design can be found in the British Museum. They are unique among watchmakers; Backes and Strauss combines a genius for horology with a passion for diamonds. Backes and Strauss watches are a showcase for their diamonds, while the brilliance of these diamonds draws attention to the bold, graceful designs of the watches. It is this remarkable combination of the crafts of watchmaking and diamond-cutting that makes Backes & Strauss the ultimate diamond watch company.

Picadilly WatchesThe Piccadilly draws its inspiration from John Nash's great circular junction, the epicentre of London ever since it was built in 1819. The Piccadilly is the flagship design in the Backes and Strauss collection, and it is easy to understand why. The bold roman numerals on the dials of the Picadilly are set in a diamond encrusted fascia that is highly unique, the contrast between the gold and pure white dial backdrop sets the Picadilly aside from it's contemporaries. The large oversize roman numerals and sword shaped hands are crafted from the finest materials and hint at the subtle luxury of the Picadilly. | ![]()
